If I have time to do this, I am seriously avoiding something I need to do!
About moi: (since we are in NB now I am practising my French)
I know, the French isn't going very well, cest la vie. Maybe I should enrol in a course?
I am an almost 50 year old women who is very opinionated and stubborn. I am from PEI, but moved away to Alberta the day after I graduated high school. And the adventure began. I am extremely honest, but in all my years of living I have learned to be graceful with it. I love to travel! We have been (lived) in a few places but there is still a whole world to see. I am a recent college graduate (2010), it took about 20 years to finally get back to school, but I DID IT! Obama comes to mind here, I have turned his Yes we can into Yes I can! It took forever to get back to school because I have spent many years following my hubby. Our motto, home is wherever we are. I am learning to drive a motorcycle. (Yes I can, is still in the back of my mind now.) I love learning and I hope to never stop!
My family:
I have a workaholic, Alberta farm boy, engineer husband who is never in the country. If I sound bitter, it is because he is leaving in a few days and I have only had three weeks with him. :( After 24 years I am still in love him! This does not mean we do not bug each other... Best friends, worst enemies. That's us.
Kids:
We have a tribe. I'll start with the oldest and tallest. I have an amazing, smart, talented, beautiful stepdaughter that I miss terribly. Her Mom and Dad that raised her get all the credit for how awesome she turned out! Oh yeah, she gets credit too. LOL. She is a great photographer! She is inspirational. I know this, as she has influenced the next female in our family.
Our daughter was born in Red Deer Alberta and she is exceptional. One of a kind. They broke the mold with her. All in a good way. She was the most challenging growing up. She is everything to me. Smart, funny, beautiful, talented and caring. She just graduated McGill at 20 and is on her way to Japan to live for a year teaching English. Her adventure begins!
The twins are next. They were also born in Red Deer Alberta. They are 18 and fraternal, in case you were wondering. They are going to different universities, UNBSJ and St.FX. If I differentiate them by twin 1 and twin 2, they will not know who I am talking about if they ever read this. Twin 1 is creative, intelligent, and funny. Twin 2 is creative, intelligent, and funny. Hummm, this is not working out so well. Their differences: one likes to cook, the other likes to be cooked for. One is non stop, the other stops to smell the roses. One is an introvert the other is an extrovert. They are wonderfully the same, yet different. I love em to pieces.
The baby was born in Calgary, Alberta. He is now 14 and entering in high school. He is very bright, awesomely creative and an all round great kid. He is our artist! He is starting Saint John high school and my only concern, he has received half his education so far in NB, so he may find IB difficult. Yes, education here in NB is a sore point for me...
That's me. That's us. I have to get back to doing what I was avoiding!
